The Primary Scholarship Results for the year 2025 are likely to be published on July 9, according to multiple officials at the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE).
The possible publication date was discussed at a ministry meeting on Wednesday (July 1). Officials said the results are expected to be released on July 9 if no unexpected complications arise.
Students have been waiting for the results for nearly two and a half months since the examination ended.
Earlier, on June 28, the Directorate’s Deputy Director (Establishment), A. S. M. Sirajuddohah, told Rising Barta that the Primary Scholarship Result 2026 would not be published during that week. He said the Directorate needed more time and expected the results to be released during the second week of July.
According to the Directorate of Primary Education, about 640,000 students took part in this year’s scholarship examination. Around 550,000 candidates were from government primary schools, while about 90,000 were from non-government schools.
The Ministry of Education has decided to award scholarships to 82,500 students this year. Among them, 33,000 students will receive Talentpool (merit) scholarships. Of these, 27,500 have been allocated for government primary school students and 5,500 for students from non-government schools.
Another 49,500 students will receive General Scholarships. The allocation includes 41,250 scholarships for government primary school students and 8,250 for students from non-government schools.
Under the current policy, scholarships will be awarded in two categories: Talentpool and General Scholarship. In both categories, 50 percent of the awards will go to boys and 50 percent to girls.
Talentpool scholarships will be selected based on merit rankings at the upazila or thana level. General Scholarships will be awarded based on merit rankings at the union or ward level.
Students selected for Talentpool scholarships will receive a one-time grant of Tk 225 and a monthly stipend of Tk 300. Students receiving General Scholarships will get a one-time grant of Tk 225 and a monthly stipend of Tk 225.
Officials have also said that a proposal to increase the scholarship amount from next year is under consideration.
If the current schedule remains unchanged, the Directorate of Primary Education is expected to publish the scholarship results on July 9.
