HSC and Equivalent Exam 2026

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will begin across Bangladesh on Thursday, July 2. A total of 1,270,583 registered candidates will take part in the examinations under 11 education boards.

On the first day, students under the country’s nine general education boards will sit for the Bangla First Paper examination. Under the Madrasah Education Board, candidates will take the Alim Qur’an Majid examination. The Technical Education Board will hold the HSC (BMT) Bangla-2 subject examination.

All examinations will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until 1:00 PM. Candidates must enter their examination rooms at least 30 minutes before the examination starts. Examination centres will allow entry from 8:30 AM. In special cases, late candidates may be allowed to enter after their details are recorded in the official register.

This year, 621,969 male students and 648,614 female students have registered for the examinations. The examinations will be held at 2,697 centres across the country.

The education boards have introduced detailed measures to ensure the examinations are fair, transparent, and free from malpractice. The instructions cover examination centre management, question paper security, candidate entry, room management, and digital monitoring.

According to the guidelines, each examination room will have one invigilator for every 20 candidates. Every room must have at least two invigilators, regardless of the number of students. Seating arrangements have also been specified. Two candidates may sit on a 5-by-6-foot bench, while a 4-foot bench may be used by only one candidate.

The education boards have also strengthened security for question papers. Three days before the examinations, question papers stored in treasury or police station lockers must be checked in the presence of the concerned officials.

On each examination day, the required question papers will be transported to examination centres under the supervision of tag officers and police. The packets may only be opened after the designated set code is received by mobile phone. If any examination is conducted using a question paper other than the approved set, departmental action will be taken against those responsible.

The arrangements aim to ensure that the HSC and equivalent examinations are conducted smoothly across Bangladesh. Authorities will continue monitoring the examination process throughout the examination period.
