NU Honours Admission: 1st Release Slip Result Tomorrow, July 28 Deadline for Previously Admitted Students

Published On: July 22, 2026 6:09 PM

This week brings the next opportunity—and for many, the last—to secure a place in the National University’s Honors Program. The list of admitted students for the first admissions period for the 2025-26 academic year will be published on Tuesday, July 22, at 4:00 p.m., according to a letter the university issued on Monday, July 20.

That same letter includes a deadline that some students cannot afford to miss: July 28.

When and How to Check the Result

The release slip result becomes available in two phases on July 22:

  • From 4 PM: by SMS
  • From 9 PM: on the admission website

To check by SMS, go to your phone’s message option and type: NU (space) ATHN (space) your roll number — then send it to 16222. The reply will carry your result.

To check online, visit the National University admission website at www.nu.ac.bd/admissions and log in as usual. Website results open later in the evening, so the SMS route is the faster option on result day.

What the Release Slip Round Means

For those unfamiliar with the UN admissions system: the waitlist is the catch-up round. Students who didn’t get a place through the regular merit lists—or who didn’t complete their application—applied through this list, choosing faculties with available places. Tomorrow’s list will determine who gets those remaining places.

There’s one important rule, clearly stated in the university letter: students admitted through the first waitlist cannot change their major. The place they are offered is the one they must accept.

The July 28 Warning for Previously Admitted Students

This is the part that can cost a careless student their entire admission. If a student who wins a seat in this release slip list is already admitted in any academic program of the 2024–25 academic year, they must:

  1. Cancel that previous admission, and
  2. Complete the online final admission form for the new seat

— both by July 28.

The consequence of failing to meet this requirement is serious and immediate: according to the dual admissions policy, the student’s admission and enrollment for the first year of the honors program for 2025-26 will be automatically canceled. In other words, simply securing a place is not enough; it is essential that the cancellation be processed.

If this applies to you, do not wait until July 27. Canceling your admission to a previous institution may involve procedures and processing times beyond your control.

Complete the Admission on Schedule

The university has indicated that all admission procedures related to the first merit list must be completed within the established deadline. Once you receive your results on July 22, download the necessary forms, prepare your documents, make the payment, and finalize the process at your assigned faculty without delay. Results are published quickly, and vacancies don’t wait.

Rising Barta will report on the results of the first merit list and any subsequent phases of the National University’s admissions process, including a second list if one is published. Good luck to all candidates on tomorrow’s list!
