The long wait finally has a release date. The results of the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams will be published on August 10, 2026, the Ministry of Education has confirmed.
Md. Abdul Khalek, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, confirmed the date on Monday, July 27, ending weeks of uncertainty that had kept more than 1.8 million candidates and their families on edge.
Why This Confirmation Matters
Until now, every date circulating publicly was a projection, not a final decision. This discrepancy generated a series of conflicting reports, some of them reusing old dates from previous years’ results cycles.
This announcement is different: it comes from a ministry secretary, whose statements are official, not from anonymous sources or estimates. For candidates who have been constantly updating news websites for two weeks, August 10th is the first date on which they can base their plans.
How the Date Kept Moving
The journey to August 10 explains a lot of the anxiety.
On June 8, the Minister of Education, A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon, announced at a press conference at the Secretariat that the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations would be published on July 20, and the corresponding instructions were issued.
However, this date was delayed. Because preparations were incomplete, the examining boards were unable to meet the deadline. On July 18, Professor Syed Aktaruzzaman, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of Inter-Education Boards of Bangladesh and Chairman of the Dhaka Board of Education, confirmed that the results would not be published on July 20, but stated that the boards were prepared to publish them during that month.
This July publication target has also been abandoned, and the official date has been set for the second week of August.
Who Is Waiting
The scale explains why this result matters nationally. More than 18 lakh 57 thousand candidates sat this year’s examinations:
- SSC under the nine general education boards
- Dakhil under the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board
- SSC and Dakhil (Vocational) under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board
This year’s examinations ran from April 21 to May 20, followed by the practical examinations.
How to Check the Result on August 10
Results are typically available through three routes, and the boards confirm the exact procedure on result day:
- Online: through the education board results website, by entering roll and registration numbers along with board and exam year
- SMS: in the standard format announced by the boards, sent to 16222
- Institutions: schools and madrasahs also receive their students’ results
Expect heavy traffic on result day. Websites slow down badly in the first hours after publication, so if a page will not load, waiting a while or using the SMS route usually solves it.
What Comes After
Once the results are released, attention immediately shifts to eleventh-grade admissions, the schedule for which will be announced separately by education officials. Candidates should have their student ID and registration numbers, along with their documents, ready well in advance, rather than rushing after the results are released.
One final warning for the next two weeks: ignore any “results released” links circulating on social media before August 10. Several websites have already been spreading incorrect dates for these results, some recycled from previous years. Rely only on official board channels and reputable news sources.
