Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan said teachers who failed students who were qualified to pass will face disciplinary action.
The minister said several students who failed this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations have since passed. He said this indicates that some students were wrongly failed, possibly because of negligence in checking answer scripts.
He made the remarks at a press conference after a meeting of the National Steering Committee for World Teachers’ Day-2026. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Education at the Secretariat on September 28.
The minister said the teachers linked to the cases have been identified. Their cases are now under investigation, and strict action will be taken against those found responsible.
“The cases of these teachers are being investigated. Necessary measures, including training, will be taken for them. Details will be provided soon after looking into the matter,” he said.
Online teacher transfer system being arranged
The minister also spoke about the transfer of teachers. He said an online transfer system is being arranged at the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA).
He said issues involving teachers who need replacement and those who are on attachment must also be resolved. NTRCA is currently working on the transfer files.
The minister said the teacher transfer process will be able to start soon. Further details on the identified teachers and measures against them will be provided after the investigations are completed.
