Education Minister says teachers linked to wrong results have been identified and their cases are under investigation.
Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan said teachers who wrongly failed students in this year’s SSC and equivalent exams will face action.
He said many students who were shown as failed have since passed. He said he believes poor checking of answer scripts may have caused the problem.
The minister made the remarks at a press conference on Monday, September 28. The briefing followed a meeting of the National Steering Committee for World Teachers’ Day 2026.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Education in the Secretariat.
Dr Milan said the teachers linked to the cases have been identified. Their cases are now being investigated, he said.
“The cases of these teachers are being investigated,” the minister said. “Necessary measures, including training, will be taken for them.”
He said more details would be given after the authorities examine the matter.
The minister did not give the number of affected students or teachers. He also did not provide details about the cases.
The issue is important for students and their families. SSC and equivalent results affect admission to higher secondary education.
The minister also spoke about teacher transfers. He said an online transfer system is being arranged at the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority, or NTRCA.
He said the transfer process must also address teachers who need replacement. It will also cover teachers who are on attachment.
NTRCA is working on the transfer files, he said. The minister added that the process could start soon.
The next step will be to complete the checks into the teachers’ cases. The ministry will provide more details after the review.
