Dhaka Central University (DCU) has extended the application deadline for admission to its first-year undergraduate programmes for the 2025–2026 academic session. Students can now apply until 25 June 2026.
According to a university notice, applicants will be able to submit the admission fee online until 12:00 midnight on 28 June. All other conditions and regulations mentioned in the admission guidelines will remain unchanged.
The DCU Admission test will take place on 11 July from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The examination will be held through the multiple-choice question (MCQ) method.
Candidates must score at least 40 marks to pass the admission test. In addition, students must obtain a minimum of 5 marks in their designated subject to be considered for admission to their preferred department.
Eligible students can apply for four-year undergraduate (honours) programmes under the Arts, Science, Social Science and Business Education units through the university’s official website.
The application fee has been fixed at Tk 800. The university said admit cards for the admission test will be available for download from 5 July.
Classes for the new academic session are scheduled to begin on 6 September.
Dhaka Central University was formed with seven government colleges in the capital. These are Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Titumir College, Government Bangla College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College and Kabi Nazrul Government College.
Under the Arts and Social Science Unit, students from the Humanities stream can apply for admission to several departments, subject to eligibility requirements and seat availability.
The Arts Unit includes Bangla, English, Arabic, History, Philosophy, Islamic History and Culture, and Islamic Studies.
The Social Science Unit offers Economics, Political Science, Sociology and Social Work.
Students can also apply to selected Science Unit departments, including Geography and Environment, Psychology, Statistics, Mathematics and Home Economics.
The Business Studies Unit includes Management, Accounting, Marketing, and Finance and Banking.
The university is expected to continue the admission process according to the published schedule, with admit card distribution beginning on 5 July and the admission test taking place later that month.
