Primary Scholarship Results Leak Before Release, DPE Orders Probe

Primary Scholarship Results: The Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has formed a three-member investigation committee after the 2025 Primary Scholarship Exam results were accessed by the public before their official publication. The Directorate has also initiated disciplinary action against an official over the incident.

According to an office order issued on Thursday, July 9, the scholarship results for fifth-grade students at government primary schools were finalized on July 8. Assistant Maintenance Engineer Md. Mehtab Kayes was assigned to create the links needed to upload the results to the official web portal.

The office order said he had been instructed not to upload the results before receiving approval from the appropriate authority. However, at around 10:00 a.m. on July 9, the results for nine districts under the Dhaka Division were uploaded through those links. The links remained active for a short time, allowing members of the public to download the results and share them on social media.

To investigate how the results were published without official approval, the Directorate formed a three-member committee. The committee is headed by Md. Mirajul Islam Ukil, Director of Planning and Development at the Directorate of Primary Education.

The other members are Md. Ziaul Kabir Sumon, Education Officer of the Stipend Division, and Mosammat Rokhsana Haider, Assistant Director of Administration-2. The committee has been asked to investigate the incident and submit a detailed report.

Sources at the Directorate said disciplinary action has been recommended against Md. Mehtab Kayes. The recommendation is linked to allegations that he failed to follow the required security procedures while creating the upload links and placing the results on the live server.

The 2025 Primary Scholarship Examination results were initially scheduled for publication on Thursday. However, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education decided not to release them at the last moment. According to information available at the Directorate, the results may be published early next week if the remaining process proceeds as planned.

The leaked results quickly spread on social media. After noon on Thursday, teacher Nizam Uddin Jewel shared a Facebook post announcing that five students from Borokanda Government Primary School had received scholarships. In another post, guardian Kamrun Nahar Keya said her nephew had received a Talentpool Scholarship.
