The selection process for the Department of Factory and Establishment Inspection (DIFE) has reached a new stage. The department, which reports to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, has published the results of its practical exam for four positions, with 94 candidates provisionally passing and moving one step closer to public employment.
The results were announced in an official statement signed by the Deputy Inspector General and Secretary of the department, Farid Ahammad.

The practical exam — the stage where typing speed and computer skills are tested for these posts — covered four positions, and the pass counts vary sharply between them:
- Stenographer cum Computer Operator: 2 candidates passed
- Steno-typist cum Computer Operator: 15 candidates passed
- Office Assistant cum Computer Typist: 69 candidates passed
- Data Entry Operator: 8 candidates passed
The position of administrative assistant and typist clearly dominates the list, accounting for more than two-thirds of all selected candidates, while the position of stenographer, which demands the most difficult combination of shorthand and typing, produced only two.
What “Provisionally Passed” Means
Candidates should be aware of the phrase “provisionally approved” in the notice. This is a common term in government selection processes; it means that approval is subject to document verification and the remaining stages of the process. Nothing is final until the entire selection process is complete, so keep all certificates, admission cards, and other documents ready and intact.
Next Stop: The Viva
For the 94 selected candidates, only one stage remains: the oral interview. According to the announcement, the date, time, and location of the interview will be announced later via a separate notice.
This means the next few weeks will be dedicated to preparation.
