The long wait for candidates for the 50th BCS may be nearing its end. The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) is preparing to release the results of the written exam in the last week of this month, if all goes according to plan.
A PSC source confirmed the timeline on Sunday, July 19. When contacted directly, PSC Public Relations Officer S.M. Motiur Rahman told reporters that the results of the 50th BCS written exam could be released by the end of July.
Why This BCS Is Moving Faster Than Usual
There is a more important reason behind the urgency to accelerate the process. The 50th BCS call has been chosen as the first real test of the PSC’s “one call, one year” roadmap: a plan to complete the entire BCS recruitment cycle, from the call to the final appointment, in twelve months. Every stage of this BCS is being closely monitored against this roadmap, and the written result is the next milestone separating candidates from the oral interview.
So far, the signs support the commission’s intention. The preliminary result of this BCS was published in record time, and the final result of the similar 47th call was recently published even ahead of the target set by the chair—a pattern the PSC seems determined to repeat.
The Exam Journey So Far

What’s at Stake: 2,150 Posts
The 50th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) recruitment drive was launched on November 26th of last year, offering a substantial number of government positions: 2,150 in total, of which 1,755 are for cadre personnel and 395 for non-cadre personnel.
Among the cadre personnel positions, the Health sector leads by a wide margin with 650 posts, making it the largest category this year. The Administration sector follows with 200 positions, and the Education sector offers 185, with the remainder distributed among the other sectors.
What Happens After the Written Result
Candidates who pass the written exam proceed to the oral interview phase, the final hurdle before the merit list is drawn up. Historically, the Public Service Commission (PSC) has strived to keep the interval between the written exam results and the oral interview as short as possible, ideally within one year, so candidates should not expect a long wait once the results are published.
