The second-phase application window for the 2026–27 academic year will now remain open until October 1.
The deadline for online applications for Class XI admission for 2026–27 has been extended to October 1. The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee made the decision on September 28.
Professor Munsi Humayun Kabir, College Inspector of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the decision. He said a notice on the new deadline will be posted on the board website.
The second phase was due to end at 8pm on September 28. It began on September 27. Students can now apply until October 1 under the new decision.
Kabir said the decision came after a meeting with the Education Minister and ministry officials. Officials from the Inter-Education Board also took part in the meeting.
He said the change was made to help students who are still outside the admission process. Nearly three lakh students remain outside the process, according to Kabir.
Many students did not apply in the first phase. Some later failed to confirm their applications. As a result, they did not get admission.
Kabir said the authorities did not want to leave so many students out of education. The new deadline gives them more time to apply.
The extension may also delay the release of admission results. The authorities will issue an official notice about the new deadline on the website.
For students seeking Class XI admission, the key change is the new October 1 deadline. They now have more time to complete the second-phase application.
