The organisation has urged the authorities to arrange another examination within one month, citing financial and psychological pressure on unsuccessful students.

The Guardian Unity Forum has expressed deep concern over the poor results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations in Bangladesh. Its president, Mohammad Ziaul Kabir Dulu, and General Secretary, Mohammad Selim Mia, raised the concerns in a joint statement.

The two leaders said parents across the country were worried and disappointed by the examination results. They also called on the authorities to give unsuccessful students another opportunity to sit for examinations in the subjects they failed.

In their statement, the forum leaders urged the authorities to arrange the examinations within one month. They said this step would help students continue their education without facing unnecessary delays.

Financial and Psychological Pressure on Students

The Guardian Unity Forum leaders said students face several difficulties when they fail examinations after studying for two years in Classes Eleven and Twelve.

According to the statement, students who need to sit for examinations again may face additional financial pressure. They also experience psychological stress, which can reduce their interest in further studies.

The leaders warned that some unsuccessful students may eventually leave the formal education system. They stressed that no parent or guardian wants their child to fail an examination.

Forum Points to Several Reasons Behind Poor Results

The forum attributed the poor results to several factors. These include a lack of dedication among teachers, insufficient efforts to improve education quality and students’ negligence towards their studies.

The leaders also said the marks reflected students’ actual performance in the examinations. They advised unsuccessful candidates to become more attentive to their studies and work harder to pass their next examinations.

Call for Greater Responsibility from Teachers and Students

The Guardian Unity Forum urged teachers to conduct classroom lessons with greater attention and sincerity. It said teachers and students both have important roles in improving educational outcomes.

The leaders advised students to show greater dedication and perseverance in their studies. They also called for more sincere teaching efforts to prevent similar poor examination results in the future.

The forum’s immediate demand is to provide failed HSC candidates with another opportunity to take examinations in their unsuccessful subjects within one month.
