HSC Exam 2026 Day 2: More than 27,000 candidates were absent on the second day of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations held across Bangladesh on Saturday, July 5, 2026. A total of 17 examinees were also expelled for adopting unfair means, according to the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
The number of expulsions was more than double that of the first day of the examinations. On the opening day, seven candidates were expelled.
The committee released the figures on Saturday afternoon after the day’s examinations.
On Saturday, students sat for the Bangla Second Paper under the nine general education boards. The Madrasa Education Board held the Arabic First Paper for the general group and the Arabic Literature for the Science and Mujabbid Mahir groups. The Technical Education Board conducted the English Second Paper examination.
Under the nine general education boards, 860,764 candidates were registered for the Bangla Second Paper examination. Of them, 841,125 attended, while 19,639 were absent.

Seven candidates were expelled under the general education boards. Rajshahi Board recorded one expulsion. Cumilla and Barishal Boards recorded two each. Dinajpur and Mymensingh Boards recorded one each. No candidates were expelled under the Dhaka, Jashore, Chattogram, or Sylhet Boards.
Under the Madrasa Education Board, 79,091 of the 84,293 registered candidates attended the Alim examinations. A total of 5,202 candidates were absent, and seven examinees were expelled.
Under the Technical Education Board, 83,263 of the 85,749 registered candidates took part in the examinations. The board recorded 2,486 absentees and three expulsions.

Across all education boards, 27,327 candidates were absent on the second day of the HSC and equivalent examinations, while 17 examinees were expelled for violating examination rules.
The HSC and equivalent examinations will continue according to the schedule set by the education boards.
