Degree students under the National University have their next deadline. Form fill-up for the 2025 Degree first year examination begins on August 2, with online applications accepted until August 17.
The university’s Examination Control Office announced the schedule through a notice issued on Monday, July 27.
The Three Dates That Matter
Miss any one of these and the process breaks down, so note all three:
- August 2 — online form fill-up opens
- August 17 — last day to complete the online application
- August 18 — last day to submit the printed form to your college
The printed form is not optional. Completing the online step alone does not finish your registration; the signed printout must reach your college by the 18th.
Where to Do It: ems.nu.ac.bd
All of the material for this process sits on the university’s examination management site, ems.nu.ac.bd. According to the notice, students and colleges will find there:
- The probable examinee list
- The subject code description form
- The question paper demand form
- The data entry software
- The full conditions for participating in the examination
Since eligibility conditions are published on the site rather than summarised in the notice, students should read them directly before filling anything in — particularly irregular candidates and those repeating subjects, whose requirements often differ from regular examinees.
The Warning Students Should Take Seriously
The notice includes an instruction that deserves special attention. The website will open at the scheduled time and will automatically close once the data entry period has ended.
This means there is no grace period, no return period, and no possibility of appeal once the system closes. Both students and university authorities must complete the data entry within the established deadline.
In practice, this is where problems often arise: the university delays the entry, the student assumes the deadline will be extended, and the portal closes with the form incomplete. If you are a first-year university student, do not leave your submission until August 16 or 17.
Exam Date Still to Come
The notice does not specify the exam date. The university has stated that the date and schedule will be published soon, so candidates should check the official UN website and their faculty notice boards in the coming weeks.
What to Do Before August 2
A short checklist while the portal is still closed:
- Locate your registration number and keep it accessible
- Confirm your subject codes with your department — wrong codes are the most common cause of rejected forms
- Check with your college about their internal submission process and any fees
- Set a personal reminder for the first week of August rather than the deadline week
Rising Barta will report the Degree first year examination routine as soon as the National University announces it.
