NU Honours 4th Year Result Out — 65.10% Pass, Record 47-Day Turnaround

Published on: September 1, 2026 5:30 AM

The National University released the results of the 2024 undergraduate final exams on Monday, with an average pass rate of 65.10%, faster than at any other time in the university’s recent history.

The results were published just 47 business days after the exams concluded. Last year, the same results took 89 days.

Students can check their results starting at 5:00 p.m. on the university’s results website: results.nu.ac.bd.

The Result in Numbers

  • Candidates: 2,32,624
  • Colleges: 881 affiliated institutions
  • Average pass rate: 65.10 percent
  • Examination period: April 30 to June 15
  • Result published: August 31, by the Examination Control Office

Why 47 Days Matters

For students at the National University, delays have historically been the defining characteristic of the system, rather than an occasional glitch. Academic delays—where a graduating class finishes years later than expected—have impacted the prospects of hundreds of thousands of graduates, affecting job applications, access to higher education, and age limits for government exams.

Therefore, reducing the results publication period from 89 to 47 days is not a mere formality. For a senior applying for a job or graduate school, six weeks saved represent six weeks of eligibility gained.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah, described this change as setting a new precedent for the university. The goal, he stated, is to make every stage—from taking the exams to publishing the results—more efficient, taking into account students’ time and their future.

He attributed the achievement to the coordinated effort of the professors, examiners, officials, staff and administration involved, and stated that the university intends to maintain this pace in the future.

How to Check Your Result

Visit results.nu.ac.bd, select the Honours Final Year examination and the relevant year, then enter your roll or registration number to view your result.

Expect the site to run slowly in the first hours after publication — more than two lakh candidates and their families will be checking at once. If the page will not load, waiting a while is more effective than repeated refreshing.

One Standard Clause Worth Knowing

The university reserves the right to correct the published results or, if necessary, to cancel them entirely, should any inconsistencies or errors be detected.

This is a common phrase in results notifications, not a sign of any particular problem. In practice, it is the reason why students should download or take a screenshot of their results and academic transcript as soon as possible, and report any anomalies to their faculty instead of ignoring them.

What Comes Next

For this graduating class, the honors degree program is now complete. The focus is now on master’s degree applications, job applications, and professional exams, all of which are ahead of schedule.

Rising Barta congratulates all admitted candidates and will provide information on the master’s degree application timeline as soon as the National University announces it.
