Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon said cooperation from all sides will be key to ensuring timely textbook delivery.
Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milon has said textbooks will reach students on time this year if all sides cooperate.
He made the remarks at an event at the International Mother Language Institute on Saturday. The minister also expressed confidence in the quality of the textbooks.
Milon said textbooks were printed and supplied on time from 2001 to 2006. Based on that experience, he said the books would also be good this time.
He said cooperation from everyone involved would be important to ensure timely delivery. The minister also warned printers against cheating during the printing process.
“If any printer cheats even once, I will not allow them to print books in the future,” he said.
The minister also referred to an instruction from the Prime Minister to develop the local printing industry. He said printers should work thoughtfully and carefully while meeting the required standards.
Milon said textbooks had been printed in India and brought to Bangladesh in the past. However, he said he had noticed some differences in printing quality this time.
“Our printers are cooperating,” he said. He added that cooperation from all sides would help ensure that students receive the books on time.
The remarks come as authorities work to complete the printing and supply of textbooks. The next step is to finish the printing and delivery process so the books can reach students on schedule.
