Dhaka Central University (DCU) Receives 65,680 Applications for 2025–2026 Admissions

Dhaka Central University has received 65,680 applications for its first-year undergraduate admission test for the 2025–2026 academic year. The application period closed at 11:59 PM on Thursday.

The university confirmed the figures on Friday, June 26, to Rising Barta. According to the authorities, the Science Unit received the highest number of applications.

A total of 31,553 candidates applied to the Science Unit, making up 48% of all applications. The Arts and Social Sciences Unit received 23,365 applications, or 35% of the total. The Business Studies Unit received 11,244 applications, accounting for the remaining 17%.

The university has extended the deadline for paying the application fee until 11:59 PM on June 28. Applicants must complete the payment to confirm their application.

The DCU Admission tests will begin with the Arts and Social Sciences Unit on July 11. The examination will take place from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The Science and Business Studies Unit examinations are scheduled for July 17 in two shifts. The Science Unit test will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the Business Studies Unit examination will run from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The admission test will follow the multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. Candidates must score at least 40 marks to qualify. In addition, applicants must obtain a minimum of five marks in the relevant subject to be considered for their preferred department.

Admit cards for the admission test will be available for download from July 5. The university plans to begin classes for the new academic session on September 6 after completing the admission process.

For the 2025–26 academic year, Dhaka Central University is offering admission to four-year Bachelor (Honours) programmes under three units: Science, Arts and Social Sciences, and Business Studies.

Students can submit applications through the university’s official website. The application fee is 800 Taka. The university has also published unit-wise admission guidelines, including eligibility requirements and other admission details.

The admission process will continue with fee payment, admit card distribution, and entrance examinations before the university announces the final results and starts the new academic session.
