SSC 2027 Test Exams 15 October to 15 November, Form Fill-Up from 16 November

Tenth-grade students preparing for next year’s SSC exam now have their first confirmed dates. The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Education Board has instructed all secondary schools under its jurisdiction to administer the selection exams (tests) between October 15 and November 15, and to publish the results within the same timeframe. The deadline for completing the registration forms opens the following day, November 16.

The notice was issued Tuesday afternoon, signed by the board’s Examinations Controller, Jesmin Taslima Banu, and marked as extremely urgent. Copies will be sent to the principals of all secondary schools, both public and private, under the board’s jurisdiction.

The notice does not include information on fees, payment deadlines, or the online registration schedule. The board says it will publish a full registration notice on its website soon.

One board, not nine

This is a Dhaka board notice, and it governs institutions under Dhaka board.

The other eight general assemblies have not yet issued similar notices, nor has the madrasa board for Dakhil candidates. The assemblies typically coordinate these schedules, so it would be surprising if the others deviated significantly from these dates. However, surprising does not mean confirmed. If it is another assemblies, consider October 15th a clear indication and await their own announcement.

Nothing sits between the result and the form

School administrators should read this section carefully. Test results must be submitted by November 15. The deadline for completing the forms begins on November 16. There is no grace period.

These two deadlines are linked. A student cannot register for the SSC until the institution has determined, based on the test results, that they are ready to take it. If the test date is postponed or it takes an extra week to mark the tests, the school will have to complete forms for students whose results have not yet been released.

The government’s education calendar set a tighter timeframe: tests starting on October 28 and results by November 18. Tuesday’s notice opens two weeks earlier and closes three days earlier.

What the test exam actually decides

For most candidates the test exam is a rehearsal. For some it is a gate.

Schools use the selection results to decide who takes the public exam, and this discretion has come under scrutiny this year. At a school in Narsingdi, investigated by the same board in August, 483 students took the selection exam, and 382 passed, according to the school itself. The 382 who passed achieved an average score of 5. The 101 who failed the selection never took the exam. No report on that investigation has been published, and no wrongdoing has been found against the institution.

Tuesday’s notice changes nothing. It means that all secondary schools under the Dhaka board will make the same decision within six weeks.

What class ten students should do now

  • Ask your school when its test exam starts. Institutions set their own dates inside the window, so yours may begin well before 15 November
  • Treat the selection result as what decides whether you sit SSC, not as a practice score
  • Wait for the full notice before budgeting. No form fill-up fee has been announced
  • Under another board, check your own board’s website rather than assuming these dates apply
  • Theory papers run 14 March to 15 April 2027, with practicals completed by 22 April

There’s a subtle advantage to all this. The shift from January to March delayed the exam, but kept it virtually on the same date as before. A candidate who completes their selection in mid-November now has about four months before the first exam, instead of the two allowed under the original schedule. That extra time is for those who take advantage of it.

Rising Barta will publish the full registration notice for the 2027 SSC, including fees and deadlines, when the board releases it.
