Motijheel Ideal School and College has achieved a pass rate of 98.21 percent in the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination. A total of 1,759 students passed out of 1,791 candidates who appeared for the examination.
The institution also reported that 387 students secured GPA-5, the highest grade point average in the examination. The results reflect strong performance among students from different academic groups.
According to the college, 346 students from the science group, 31 from the business studies group and 10 from the humanities group were among those who achieved GPA-5.
College Principal Professor Lal Mohammad expressed satisfaction with the results. He said the institution had achieved a pass rate of 98.21 percent, while the national pass rate was slightly above 52 percent.
“We are satisfied with this result,” he said.
Five Months of Special Preparation
Lal Mohammad said the college had taken special steps to improve students’ performance. The institution conducted a five-month preparation programme before the examination.
Under the programme, students attended regular classes on one day and model tests on the next. Teachers were also instructed to identify students’ weak areas and help them improve.
The principal said teachers regularly monitored students’ progress. They focused on addressing learning gaps through additional support and preparation.
Principal Raises Concerns Over Question Papers
Despite the strong results, the principal raised concerns about some examination question papers.
Lal Mohammad said he found several question papers somewhat disorganised this year. He particularly mentioned Physics in the science group, along with Bangla and English.
He said these papers appeared less organised than expected.
The 2026 HSC results highlight the performance of Motijheel Ideal School and College compared with the national pass rate. The institution’s results also reflect its five-month preparation programme and the efforts of its teachers and students.
