This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations recorded an overall pass rate of 52.12 percent. A total of 1,240,798 candidates appeared under the country’s 11 education boards.

Of them, 646,685 students passed, while 594,113 failed. The figures show that nearly half of all candidates could not pass the examinations this year.

The pass rate among female students was 56.31 percent, compared with 47.75 percent among male students. Meanwhile, 40,084 candidates achieved a GPA-5, the highest grade point average.

Among the GPA-5 achievers, 20,363 were male students and 19,721 were female students.

Dhaka Board Records Highest Pass Rate

The planned improvement examinations will give failed candidates an opportunity to improve their academic results. The examinations are particularly important for students who need to pass their HSC or equivalent examinations to continue their higher education.

The authorities are expected to publish the official form-filling notice on Sunday. Students should follow announcements from their respective education boards for the confirmed schedule and examination instructions.
