DSHE Publishes Guidelines to Select 140

The list will include 70 school teachers and 70 college teachers ahead of World Teachers’ Day.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has published guidelines to select distinguished school and college teachers across Bangladesh.

The guidelines were published on Thursday, September 17. The move comes ahead of World Teachers’ Day, which will be observed on October 5.

Under the government initiative, 100 distinguished teachers will receive Tk 1 lakh each. The total allocation for the initiative is Tk 1 crore.

According to the guidelines, DSHE will prepare a list of 70 distinguished school teachers and 70 distinguished college teachers. The selection will follow the set criteria for distinguished teachers.

The notice said seven teachers will be selected from Dhaka district. One teacher will be selected from each of the remaining districts for both school and college categories.

This will result in a total list of 140 distinguished teachers. DSHE has asked the concerned authorities to send the list along with supporting documents in hard copy.

The documents must be sent through a designated messenger to the Assistant Director of the General Administration Branch. The deadline for sending the documents is September 21.

DSHE has also instructed officials to complete the attached Distinguished Teacher Information Form. Its soft copy must be sent by email to [email protected].

The email should be addressed to the convener of the committee responsible for preparing the list of distinguished teachers. The committee is also responsible for communication, and collecting photographs and other information.

The initiative aims to honor distinguished teachers on World Teachers’ Day. The published guidelines set out the process for preparing the list and submitting the required documents.

The next step is for the concerned authorities to submit the names and supporting documents within the given deadline.
