Students who confirmed admission but could not complete college admission can cancel their earlier application and apply again.
The deadline for the second phase of Class XI admission for the 2026–27 academic year has been extended to October 1. The extension will help students who confirmed their admission but could not complete the process at their selected college.
The first phase of the Class XI admission process ended on September 22. Many students were selected for colleges during this phase and confirmed their admission by paying the required fee.
However, some students could not complete their college admission within the given deadline. These students have faced difficulties while trying to apply in the second phase.
Dhaka Education Board College Inspector Professor Munsi Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter to The Sun BD on Monday, September 28.
He said students who want to change colleges must first cancel their previous application. They must visit their respective education board with a simple written application, their SSC registration card and admit card.
The board will review the application and cancel the previous application. According to the College Inspector, the process will take about five minutes. Students can then submit a new application immediately.
Professor Kabir said the cancellation process is currently handled offline. He explained that the system could have been made online, but the process has been followed offline for about 10 years.
According to him, an online cancellation system could result in an application being cancelled unintentionally. This could create further problems for students. For this reason, the education boards have continued with the offline process.

Normally, the student, their mother or father should visit the education board. However, in special cases, a person known to the student may complete the process on their behalf.
Students who applied in the first phase and again in the second phase but were not allocated a college will not have to pay the application fee again. This provision is also mentioned in the relevant notice, according to the College Inspector.
Professor Kabir also said the application deadline, which was previously set for September 27 and 28, has been extended to October 1. The board has taken the step to make the process easier for students.
Students who need to cancel their previous application should therefore visit their respective education board with the required documents before the extended deadline.
