Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University will lead the admission process for public universities under the agricultural cluster system this year.
The admission test for first-year undergraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic year will be held on January 2 next year. Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) in Dhaka will lead and coordinate the admission process this time.
SAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Latif said the university will give top priority to holding the test smoothly and transparently. The university will take all necessary steps so candidates can sit for the exam without difficulty.
Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University will organise and coordinate the admission test with the other participating universities. Discussions are already underway about the test date and other activities related to the admission process.
The admission test committee will announce more details later. These details will include eligibility, the application process, the number of seats, exam time and test centres.
The agricultural cluster system allows students to seek admission to public universities that specialise in agriculture and related fields. Students from different parts of Bangladesh take part in the joint admission test each year.
Nine universities participated in the agricultural cluster system in the last academic year. They were Bangladesh Agricultural University, Gazipur Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Sylhet Agricultural University, Khulna Agricultural University, Habiganj Agricultural University and Kurigram Agricultural University.
For students planning to apply, January 2 is the key date announced so far. The admission committee is expected to provide the remaining information on applications, eligibility, exam time and centres through its later announcement.
