Subheadline: The Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust will provide one-time medical grants to eligible underprivileged students receiving treatment after serious accidents.
The Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust has started accepting applications for its July–August phase of financial assistance for students injured in accidents and receiving medical treatment. Eligible students can apply online until 11:59 PM on August 31.
The information was announced in a letter issued by the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust on Tuesday, July 7.
Under the programme, the Trust will provide a one-time medical grant of BDT 10,000 to BDT 50,000 to underprivileged meritorious students who have suffered serious injuries in accidents. The support is available for eligible students from Grade 6 to undergraduate level and equivalent.
Students receiving treatment can submit their applications through the Trust’s e-Medical Grant Management System. Each eligible student may apply once during the treatment period using the designated online application portal.

According to the announcement, the accident and hospital treatment must have taken place either during the fiscal year in which the notice was published or within the previous one year.
Applicants must upload several documents with their online application. These include a medical certificate confirming the serious injury, issued by the district Civil Surgeon, a physician at a government hospital, or the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer. They must also submit the required medical reports and a certificate from their educational institution in the prescribed format as proof of the accident.
The Trust said applicants should follow the e-Medical Grant User Guidelines and upload all required documents before submitting their applications through the online system.
The application deadline for the September–October phase of the 2025–26 fiscal year is 11:59 PM on August 31. The programme aims to support underprivileged students from Grade 6 through undergraduate level who are undergoing medical treatment after serious accidents.
