DCU Arts and Social Sciences Admission Test 2026

The admission test for the Arts and Social Sciences Unit at Dhaka Central University (DCU) begins on Saturday, July 11, for the 2025–2026 first-year undergraduate (Honours) academic session.

The one-hour examination will take place from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at designated centres across the university’s seven affiliated government colleges in Dhaka. Candidates have been instructed to take their seats at least 30 minutes before the examination starts.

This year, 23,365 applicants have applied for 4,498 seats in the Arts and Social Sciences Unit. The figures mean that about five applicants will compete for each available seat.

The admission test will be held in the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format. Candidates must score at least 40 marks to pass the examination. They must also obtain at least five marks in their preferred subject to be considered for admission to that subject.

The university has advised applicants to check the official DCU website for admission-related information, including examination updates and other instructions.

The remaining admission tests will be held on July 17. The Science Unit examination is scheduled from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, while the Business Studies Unit examination will take place from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The seat plan for both units will be published on July 14.

According to the admission data, the Science Unit has received 31,553 applications for 4,795 seats. The Business Studies Unit has 11,244 applicants competing for 1,997 seats.

Across all three units, Dhaka Central University is offering 11,290 seats for first-year undergraduate students in the 2025–26 academic session.

University authorities said the admission test results will be published as soon as possible after the examinations. The admission process will begin after the results are announced, and classes for newly admitted students are scheduled to start on September 6.
