The Jessore Education Board found that answer-script evaluation errors changed the results of 2,436 SSC candidates.
The Jessore Education Board has decided to bar 1,684 chief examiners and examiners from evaluating public examination answer scripts for two years over errors in checking SSC answer scripts.
The decision follows a review of SSC re-scrutiny results, which found changes in the results of 2,436 students. Among them, 380 students who initially failed have now passed, while the grades of 1,304 students have changed.
A total of 752 students have newly achieved GPA-5 following the re-scrutiny.
Jessore Education Board Controller of Examinations Professor S. M. Hossain Ali confirmed the matter to The Daily Campus on Tuesday night, September 22.
He said the board is giving the highest priority to publishing accurate examination results. He also said negligence or mistakes in answer-script evaluation will not be tolerated.

According to the controller, examiners who made mistakes will not be assigned to evaluate SSC answer scripts for the next two years. The decision will be formally finalised after a meeting of the board’s disciplinary committee.
The SSC results were originally published on August 10. The board accepted applications for re-scrutiny for seven consecutive days from the following day.
During that period, 28,862 of the board’s 88,097 passed students applied for re-scrutiny. Their applications covered 74,717 answer scripts.
A subsequent review found that the results of 2,436 candidates had changed. The changes included students moving from fail to pass, changes in grades and new GPA-5 results.
The board then reviewed the answer-script evaluation process to identify examiners whose negligence or mistakes contributed to the changes.
A total of 1,684 chief examiners and examiners were identified through that process. Under the board’s proposed disciplinary action, they will not be allowed to evaluate answer scripts in any public examination for the next two years.
The final disciplinary decision will be taken after the disciplinary committee’s meeting.
