Govt Primary Head Teachers to Get 10th-Grade Salary Through EFT

Finance Ministry directs iBAS++ to update salary fixation for head teachers, but no arrears will be paid before the GO date.

The salaries of government primary school head teachers are set to be incorporated into the 10th grade through the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system, following a directive from the Ministry of Finance.

The ministry issued the directive in a letter on Tuesday, October 6. The letter was sent to the Budget Branch of the Ministry of Finance.

According to the letter, necessary steps must be taken to incorporate the salary-fixation process into iBAS++ for head teachers who are currently in the 11th grade and are to be placed in the 10th grade.

However, the head teachers will not receive any financial arrears for the period before the date on which the administrative ministry issues the Government Order (GO).

Salary process to be updated in iBAS++

The directive concerns government primary school head teachers who are currently receiving salaries under the 11th grade.

The Finance Ministry has instructed that the procedure for determining their salaries under the 10th grade be incorporated into iBAS++. The system is used by the government to manage its budget and financial transactions.

The move will allow the revised salary-fixation procedure to be reflected in the government’s payment system through EFT.

No arrears before GO

The ministry has also made clear that the change will not create a claim for past financial benefits.

Head teachers will not be entitled to salary arrears for any period before the administrative ministry issues the GO. This means the financial benefit will apply from the date specified under the government order, rather than from an earlier period.

The directive is contained in the Finance Ministry’s letter issued on October 6.

What happens next

The administrative ministry will need to issue the Government Order before the financial benefit can take effect. After that, the required salary-fixation procedure will be incorporated into iBAS++ for the concerned head teachers.
