The updated schedule will include a new date for the postponed English 2nd Paper examination after floods disrupted exams in the region.
Students under the Chittagong Education Board are waiting for the revised HSC Routine 2026 after the English 2nd Paper examination was postponed because of flooding and adverse weather. The exam had been scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, but education authorities suspended it due to safety concerns.
The postponement applies to all examinations scheduled for July 8 under the Chittagong Education Board. Officials said the decision was taken to protect students, teachers, and examination staff as flood conditions worsened in several areas.
The decision was announced through an official notice signed by Professor Syed Ashfaquzzaman, President of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, on Tuesday, July 7.
According to the notice, the decision followed a review of reports submitted by Deputy Commissioners from all districts under the Chittagong Education Board.
The postponement covers the following examinations within the board’s jurisdiction: HSC, Alim, HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational), and Diploma in Commerce. It also includes institutions affiliated with the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board that operate within the Chittagong Education Board’s area.
Education authorities said a revised examination routine will be published later. Once released, students will be able to collect the updated schedule from the official Chittagong Education Board website. The revised routine will include the new examination date for the postponed English 2nd Paper and any other related changes.
The official notice also confirmed that HSC and equivalent examinations under all other general education boards across Bangladesh are continuing according to the previously announced schedule. Examinations conducted by the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board in districts outside the Chittagong Education Board’s jurisdiction are also being held as planned.
The revised routine is important for thousands of candidates affected by the postponement. Until the new schedule is announced, students have been advised to continue their preparation and regularly check the official Chittagong Education Board website for further updates.
Education authorities are expected to announce the revised examination schedule through an official notice once arrangements for the postponed examinations are finalized.
