Subheadline: The results announcement event will take place at the Ministry of Education’s conference room at the Secretariat instead of the International Mother Language Institute.
The venue for the announcement of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results has been changed. The results will be published on October 31, with the announcement event scheduled to take place at the Ministry of Education’s conference room at the Secretariat.
Professor Syed Aktaruzzaman, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, confirmed the change to BanglaNews on Thursday, October 29.
Previously, the event was scheduled to take place at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha. However, the venue has now been moved to the Secretariat.
Results to Be Published Simultaneously Online and at Institutions
Professor Aktaruzzaman said only the venue had changed. The results will be published simultaneously through the respective educational institutions and online as soon as the announcement event begins.
Students will therefore be able to access their results through their institutions and online channels after the announcement starts. The information provided does not specify a separate publication time.
HSC Results Date Revised
The results were initially scheduled for publication on October 29. However, concerns over approval and formalities arose while Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was visiting Japan.
The date was later revised to October 31. The prime minister is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on Thursday night.
The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee had proposed publishing the results between October 25 and 29. The Ministry of Education approved the final date after considering the proposal.
More Than 1.27 Million Candidates Took Exams
This year, HSC and equivalent examinations began across the country on July 2 under 11 education boards. These include nine general education boards, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board and the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board.
The examinations were initially scheduled to end on August 8. However, flooding required additional time to complete examinations under several boards, including the Chattogram Education Board.
A total of 1,270,583 candidates are taking the examinations in different categories. These include HSC, Alim, HSC (BM/BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma-in-Commerce.
The examinations are being held at 2,697 centres across 9,439 educational institutions. This year, the nine general education boards used identical question papers for their examinations.
What Students Need to Know
Students should check their respective educational institutions and the relevant online channels after the announcement event begins on October 31. The results will be released simultaneously through these channels, according to the Dhaka Education Board chairman.
The results announcement event will be held at the Ministry of Education’s conference room at the Secretariat, replacing the previously planned venue in Segunbagicha.
